Monitoring the New Deal for Engagement in Fragile States
The New Deal for Engagement in Fragile States?establishes a new framework for how donors, fragile states and their partners will work together to build strong state institutions and norms that can sustain peace. It sets out steps to facilitate progress toward the Millennium Development Goals and commits states to changing the way they engage with—and improve results in—fragile states. It also represents the first time fragile and conflict-affected states have come together to coordinate their efforts through a body known as the g7+.
As the New Deal is implemented over the coming years, the North-South Institute will monitor its progress.
